EXAMPLE GUIDE (How to get 99 Woodcutting)

To clear some common misconceptions about Woodcutting: Choking Ivy is better than the Sawmill, I tried both. Secondly Sacred Clay axes are quicker at chopping Ivy than Dragon Hatchets, they are quicker marginally. But if you add in the time taken to obtain the axes, they are much slower than Drag. Hatchets. The Inferno Adze IS EQUAL to the Dragon Hatchet in terms of cutting wood.

Obviously, we all need to start somewhere. Level 1 woodcutting- NORMAL LOGS. Pick up a Bronze or Iron Hatchet and go cut Normal Trees. They are found in most places in f2p areas. And all woodland areas.



At level 20 woodcutting, Yes 20. Cut Oak logs. At level 15 woodcutting you get less experience on Oaks than Normals in 10 minutes.



Now is when woodcutting starts to become harder to level. Again woodcut Oak to 35-40. NOT 30.




NOW is the long, boring stretch of Willows to Ivy. Remember if you're woodcutting for money, cut normals till 25, Oak to 50, Willow to 70, Yew to 99. (Magics never get quick, are poor xp and slower money than Yews)

Cut the Willows in Draynor to level 70 Woodcutting. THEN, move on to Choking Ivy!



The first 70 levels should take you 5 days at a reasonable pace. The next 22 levels will take around 20 days depending on how much concentration you have at Ivy.

The final 7 levels of 92 - 99 take about 20 days, again varied on the input. But xp per hour increases to around 65k-80k an hour.

A DRAGON HATCHET IS A MUST.

Finally after around Two Months:


Ivy per hour at Level 70 - 80 = 50k - 60k
Level 81 - 92 = 60k - 75k
Level 93 - 98 = 60k - 80k
Levels: 99 - 100 = 60k - 100k

If you want to Woodcut for money I suggest sticking to Normal and Oak logs till level 70 woodcutting. Oak and Normal logs are sold at high prices as they can be made in to planks. Yews from 70 to 99 will take much longer than Ivy. Obviously.

12m from 89 to 99 woodcutting made
I used a Willow tree at Varrock Ivy. - Use secateurs + Fully grown Willow tree. 6 branches every 30mins, around 9k. It adds up though.

NESTS! They appear and disappear pretty quick, so keep your eyes alert for a message saying a bird's nest has fallen out of the ivy! I got around 400 nests from 89-99 woodcutting, that's a LOT of money.

Nests

Basically, if you want nests for Raven's eggs etc. Go to Willows, around 8 nests an hour at level 99 woodcutting.

Money If you're looking to make money I still suggest getting 99 woodcutting first, it'll make gathering of all logs (except Magic) a LOT easier.

and inferno adze is just as good as d axe !
